TpT Forward Conference 2020: Your Guide to Chicago

March 1, 2020 No Comments

Are you coming to the TpT Forward conference in Chicago this summer? Let’s get excited! I’m sure many of you will be taking advantage and turning this into a little vacation. Hopefully you’re bringing the family too! There is so much to do, see, and eat you will want to organize your time wisely. And as teacher-authors (and teachers, and moms, and wives, and coaches, and everything else we do) we don’t always have much spare time to do research before going on a trip.

So to help you out, I teamed up with “A Love for Special Learning” to offer you all our tips and favorite spots around town. Chi-town is my hometown and I couldn’t be more proud of my beautiful city and what it has to offer. Keep reading to get all the scoop.

Here is a sneak peak of what is inside our Chicago Guide:

  • Welcome to Chicago
  • Getting Around- Transportation
  • Our Favorite Spots
  • Let’s Eat! Restaurant Guide
  • Let’s Drink! Bars, Brews, and Winery Guide
  • Beach’s Guide
  • Navy Pier Guide
  • Riverwalk Guide
  • Fun for Families
  • Shopaholic
  • Broadway in Chicago
  • Instagram Famous

But wait, there’s more! We would be remiss if we did not include some info about one of the most famous cultural aspects of Chicago culture. The blues are a Chicago staple. If you love live music, then you won’t want to miss this.

Chicago Blues

My favorite spot is Kingston Mines located in the Lincoln Park neighborhood just north of downtown. It has two different stages which rotate bands so there is ALWAYS live music playing. There is a cover charge at the door. $12 Sundays- Thursday. $15 on Friday and Saturday. Check out their FAQ page for info on discounts.

Closer to downtown is the famous Buddy Guy’s Legends. Be sure to check out their line up and grab tickets early. You can pay cover at the door if they’re not sold out. If you want a table, get there by 7:30 during the week and 6 on the weekend because it is first come first serve.

We hope you enjoy the free guide and your trip to Chicago. Feel free to reach out to us on social media with any questions or if you need advice. And make sure you share this to all your TpT friends coming to the conference!
