3 Different Ways to Use Interpersonal Speaking Task Cards

August 4, 2021 No Comments

Do you love mixing things up in your Spanish classroom? Do you love using task cards because you know they’re beneficial to your students but you want to change it up just a little to keep it fresh? The brain craves novelty, right? So when I started using my interpersonal speaking task cards in class, I knew my students were getting a ton of speaking practice. Buuuut I’m also the teacher that loves trying new activities so I knew I had to keep mixing it up.

Here are my 3 ways to change up your speaking card activities to keep your students engaged and on their toes.

  1. The students each get 1 card, converse with a classmate, then trade cards and find a new partner.
  2. Post the cards around the room. Students partner up and visit each of the cards to converse with their partner. I recommend laminating the cards then using scotch tape to stick them to the walls.
  3. Post the cards digitally and students record themselves with a partner asking and answering the questions. They can post their videos for the teacher to check.

These are 3 easy ways to mix up the same speaking task card activity to make it feel new to your students. I hope you enjoy them!
