Stay Organized! How to Store Speaking Task Cards

June 12, 2024 No Comments

Are you obsessed with task cards like I am? I just love how independent my students can work while still getting lots of Spanish input. However, trying to keep them all organized can be such a nightmare! Especially if you’re trying to keep them from one year to the next (yay for laminating).

Over the years I’ve utilized 4 different methods for organizing and storing my task cards. Some might be easier for you than others depending on if you have your own classroom or are a traveling teacher. Read on to find out 4 simple ways to stay organized and sane when dealing with Spanish task cards.

1. Index card box

You can pick these up anywhere that has school supplies. I found several at the Dollar Tree. They are wonderful for organization, the only downside is that they take up more room and can be cumbersome if you have to switch classrooms.

2. Plastic sandwich baggies

These are so easy and take up almost no space. For an upgrade, Duct tape the end on the opposite side from where it closes. Then hole punch through the duct tape. This will allow you to include them in a binder. You can also write on the outside with a sharpie to label them.

3. Envelops

Write on the outside to keep track of what lesson they’re for. The upside is that they are easy to store and you can even stack them up in a drawer. The downside is that they aren’t as durable and the task cards can fall out.

 4. Sheet protectors & binder

This was my last resort because I would worry that they would slip out of the top. Use scotch tape or paper clips to prevent that from happening.

I hope these have given you some good ideas for letting track of your task cards. Do you have any more? Comment below and let me know your best tricks.
