Do you use speaking task cards in your Spanish class but worry about your students that struggle with the language? Or maybe you’d like to include a new word that they haven’t seen before? This can cause confusion and cause your students to slip back into speaking in English. Read on for my best tip at how to prevent this from happening.
My best teacher tip:
Pass out all the task cards. Each student will get one card. All the students look at their cards then raise their hand if there is a word on the card they don’t know. Teacher writes the word on the board in English and Spanish for the entire class to reference. Simple. Quick. Easy. But facilitates comprehension and conversation.
This helps students to feel more confident when talking to their classmates. PLUS it really reduces the amount of questions the teacher has to field during the activity. Give it a try and let me know how it goes! Drop me a line on Instagram or Facebook and tell me about your experience.
