August 9, 2022 No Comments

Have you thought about doing a weekend chat with your Spanish students but just aren’t sure how to set it up? Or maybe you’d like to mix up what you’re already doing with weekend chat. Looking for new activities to practice ¿Qué hiciste el fin de semana pasado? using the Sweet 16 verbs? Read on to find out about my favorite Spanish activities for making weekend chat more exciting & interactive.

My favorite activities for Weekend Chat in Spanish

Interpersonal Speaking Task Cards

Students practice asking / answering the questions with classmates using these interpersonal task cards then show off their skills with a writing review worksheet. There are 4 worksheets for differentiation.

The questions are broad enough that you can use them at anytime! Get your Spanish students up chatting and getting to know one another.

Personal Questions Worksheets

This bundle of activities includes everything from:

  • true/false
  • logical/illogical
  • listen & draw
  • read & draw worksheets.

Each activity contains different questions relating to what your students did this past weekend. A great way to give extra input in Spanish.

Read & Draw – ¿Qué hiciste el fin de semana pasado?

A creative way to start conversations after the weekend and practice high frequency verbs.

These 4 worksheets ask students to write about ¿qué hiciste el fin de semana pasado? using sweet 16 verbs in past tense Spanish.

Students complete the sentences and then draw to demonstrate comprehension.

They can then use their drawings to discuss with a classmate or even create a short video describing what they did over the weekend.

I hope these activities spark some new ideas for how you can mix up your weekend chat on Mondays. Have any other ideas? I’d love to chat about it. Connect with me on Instagram or Facebook. I’d love to hear your strategies!
