Your Classroom Walls Need to Look Like This

August 3, 2022 No Comments

I am a HUGE advocate for putting high frequency words up on the walls of your classroom. You will be amazed at how your students use them, which builds their confidence. But… then…. one day they no longer need them. Why? Because they learned them through repetition and increased exposure. Interested in your students improving their basic communication skills? Read on to find out which word groups I hang on my classroom walls.

My Favorite Word Walls:

  • Weather – These are key for Calendar Talk. Click here for a variety of ways to spice up Calendar Talk.
  • Greetings & Introductions– Perfect for a lower level class. “Cómo te llamas” “Cómo estás”
  • Rejoinders – These are especially wonderful in an upper level class if you’re having a socratic seminar or group discussion. “Estoy de acuerdo”

You are going to love how well your students retain these words once they see them daily. Do you use word walls? Drop me a line on  Instagram or Facebook. I’d love to hear how you use them too!
